Fall is more than just cute dog sweaters and pumpkin spice lattes — it’s also the start of football season. And for the Boise State football team, that means it’s time for the tee dog to shine!

The Boise State Broncos have been using trained dogs to retrieve kickoff tees since the ’90s. The dogs used for this entertaining role have been mostly Labradors, and a rarer hunting breed known as the Pudelpointer. The tee dogs are trained in field retrieving and practice regularly in fields and rivers.
